@Infamous: Thank you for your feedback. Yes, SkyDrive Explorer is just the way to go if someone doesn't want to go with all the hassle of Window's messed up WebDAV. I've mentioned it at the end of my article.

But, I believe it's better to use an operating system's native support for WebDAV instead of installing another app to do the same job. I haven't used SkyDrive Explorer, but if it doesn't map a network drive like Windows does, you won't be able to use SkyDrive simulated as hard-disk.

@zack: I haven't used gladinet but it really seems a promising app. It says it supports sync, so it'd be really useful. I'll try it!

I use Gladinet (http://www.gladinet.com) to save documents to SkyDrive through a mapped drive.

Καλά τα έχεις κάνει με τις επιλογές σου. Δυστυχώς ο SQL Server είναι δαιδαλώδης, όπως και η εγκατάσταση! Για αρχή να εγκαταστήσεις μόνο το Database Engine, το Client Tools Connectivity και το Management Tools - Complete, και όχι όλα τα features.

Για να έχεις κολλήσει πάντως στο Database Engine Configuration, σκέφτομαι να κάνεις το εξής: Όρισε μόνο Windows Authentication ως μέθοδο ταυτοποίησης, και πάτα επίσης το κουμπί Add Current User, ώστε να σε προσθέσει ως administrator του SQL Server.

Για περισσότερη βοήθεια, πρέπει να μας πεις ακριβώς το validation error που σου βγάζει η εγκατάσταση. Αν μπορείς ίσως κάποιο screenshot (μπορείς να το στείλεις στο email μου που βλέπεις στα αριστερά στο blog)?

Καλησπερα, αντμετωπιζω ενα σοβαρο προβλημα κατα την προσπαθεια μου να εγκαταστησω τον SQL Server 2008.

Βαζω το cd και πεταει ενα παραθυρο(οπως και μεσω dreamspark, παλι ομως το ιδιο συμβαινει) με ονομα SQL Server Installation Center. Στο αριστερο μερος του παραθυρου υπαρχει μια λιστα με γκτι φοντο, η οποια περιλαμβανει τις εξης επιλογες: Planning, Installation, Maintenance, Tools, Recources, Advanced και Options.

Pροφανως και επιλεγω το Installation, μετα το New SQL server stand-alone Installation or add features to an existing installation(μηπως εδω κανω λαθος και πρεπει να επιλεξω την δευτερη επιλογη(NEW SQL Server failover cluster Installation)?).

Αρχικα τρεχω τα setup rules, ολα καλα μεχρι εδω.

Επειτα, παταω Install στα Setup Support Files

ΜΕχρι την στιγμη που ζηταει το product key ολα καλα λοιπον. (dld next, apodexomai toys orous mpla mpla)

Μετα με βγαζει στο feature selection kai pataw select all(recommended)

Εκει που κολλαει ειναι στο Database Engine Configuration και πεταει σφαλμα αναφεροντας οτι υπαρχουν validation errors?

Δυστυχώς testing δεν έχει υποστεί καθόλου! Σε εμένα δούλεψε και δεν παρατήρησα άμεσες παρενέργειες. Πάντως προτείνω να κάνεις πρώτα ένα export από το Outlook σε .pst, για να έχεις ένα backup.
